In 15th century the Golden Horde declined and Ukraine remained under the Great Duchy of Lithuania and the Polish-Lithuanian union. In 1569 Ukraine, after the Union of Lublin which oversaw the formation of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, fell under the under Polish administration, becoming part of the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland.
